SWEDISH MASSAGE
Your Fusion LMT will use the highest quality hypoallergenic massage oils to facilitate smooth, gliding strokes called effleurage on all areas of your body. Swedish massage promotes relaxation, eases muscle tension and creates other health benefits. It can be slow and gentle or vigorous and bracing, depending on what the therapist wants to achieve. Feel free to state your preference for pressure during your Swedish massage. It can range from light to firm. Swedish massage usually includes some deeper work on areas of specific muscle tension. If you want more intensive work and firmer pressure, check out the deep tissue massage we offer.
DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE
Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders. Some of the same strokes are used during a Swedish Massage, but the movement is slower and the pressure is deeper, concentrated on areas of tension and pain. Please feel free to state your preference on how much pressure you prefer or for a softer more gentle experience check out our Swedish Massage.
LYMPH MASSAGE
Lymph massage is designed to promote the healthy flow of lymph, the clear fluid which supports immune system function by flowing through the body and sequestering foreign material like viruses. It is believed that the massage eliminates blockages in the lymphatic system, while also helping to pull out toxins. Lymphatic massage can be useful in cases of edema, sports injury or for people experiencing a sluggish immune system or those suffering from a lack of energy.
TRIGGER POINT THERAPY
A trigger point is a hyperirritable spot that is painful. It is called a trigger point because it “triggers” a painful response. It affects not only the muscle where the trigger point is located, but also causes “referred pain” in tissues supplied by nerves. Trigger points are located in a taut band of muscles fibers. The trigger point is the most tender point in the band. Your Fusion LMT will locate and deactivate them using finger pressure and unique muscle gripping techniques.
SPORTS MASSAGE THERAPY
Sports massage is a type of Swedish massage that stimulates circulation of blood and lymph fluids. Some sports massage movements use trigger point therapy to break down adhesions (knots in the muscles) and increase range of motion. Sports massage emphasizes prevention and healing of injuries to the muscles and tendons. Please let your Fusion LMT know what problematic areas you are concerned about so they can focus on these points.
CRANIAL SACRAL THERAPY
Cranial Sacral Therapy seeks to restore the natural rhythmic movement found between the bones of the skull. The purpose of this is to aid the circulation of the cerebrospinal fluid throughout the central nervous system.
REFLEXOLOGY
Your Fusion LMT will target “reflex” areas on the feet and hands that correspond to specific organs, glands, and other parts of the body. The technique is extremely relaxing and promotes a health in corresponding organs.
DEEP HEAT THERAPY
Deep Heat Therapy uses different sources of heat to not only relax muscle fibers and tendons but also treat certain medical conditions.
